Trade unionists, Labour Party members, members of the Waltham Forest mutual aid network and other campaigners have come together to form Waltham Forest United for PPE.

We are disturbed by the number of health and social care workers who have needlessly lost their lives due to lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while caring for Covid-19 patients. We’re concerned that measures are not in place to prevent a further escalation of deaths as people from different sectors are now pressurised to return to work.

We demand that every essential worker in the borough is provided with PPE. No one should risk their life just by going to work.

We are determined that employers and statutory bodies are held responsible for the provision of PPE – up to and including the government.

We commemorate the workers who have died, and we continue to fight for the living.
